@willomni That’s right! Thanks for reminding me. So Alexis was likely richer than Blake. I loved the triplex penthouse that Alexis lived in (I think it was owned by Cecil & willed to Alexis). However, I did think that Blake had a more impressive home & office. It was never clear to me why Alexis moved out of her penthouse and into that hotel. That seemed like a step down for Alexis as the penthouse was more befitting a, well a – billionairre!

@willomni Also, later in the show, Blake tried to take over ColbyCo and Adam warned him not to try that with a company that was much bigger than his.

@redletter2008 Some scenes shed light on this. Once, Krystle got in Alexis’ face at the reading of Cecil’s will when Alexis accused Krystle of being a golddigger, and Krystle said you’re one to talk, nothing could stop you from going after Cecil “and his billions.” 1/2 of billions is still billions.

@willomni I don’t recall Dynasty ever explicitly saying how much money Alexis inherited from Cecil Colby. Blake’s net worth was also never specifically indicated. Given that half of Cecil’s wealth went to his nephew Jeff, it would seem unlikely that she would be much wealthier than Blake. Cecil Colby could not have been stupid & still amassed his empire. Yet he allows Alexis, who had NO business experience (let alone in the oil industry) to run Colbyco. I believe it was a public company too.

There is a group of sick pervs on YouTube (won’t say names out of respect) who celebrate fur and animal parts used as fashion, and they actually have clips of Dynasty just showing the ladies in their fave fur garments and they go on and on about them. Some people are so twisted; I’m sure they’d love the elephant tusk table and probably own one sitting on a bear rug… LOL…

@bluenail03 Well before there was “awareness” of anything in the ‘good’ ol’ days when fur was fashionable: yes. But even in the 80s when I watched this, I thought the coats were so gorgeous because I never gave much thought to the fact that so much suffering could look so “beautiful.” Now we know, and when I see them I cringe. The worst are the ones Sable wore sometimes with the head and tail still attached (scarves, wraps, stoles, whatever it was called). Ugh, we’ve come such a long way!

@reymatt76 Don’t be so sure….I can SO easily see JC wearing a real mink, etc. UGH!

@bluenail03 No Alexis is a cunt. And part of that is buying fur and endangered animal parts purely for looks. Anyone who wears or buys that stuff is a cold hearted person who is worthy of scorn. I’m sure in real life Joan Collins was not so cruel! haha love this show!

That desk is SO gross! Alexis never was one for the environment and endangered animals….

Alexis’ outfit here reminds me of those ice cream scooper people behind the counter. It’s almost as if Krystle complained about the ice cream she was served and Alexis told her to get out of the ice cream shop.

Ahh, one of many patented “Dynasty turns” done by the characters!! :-) Usually by Alexis, but great when someone did it to her! Of course she spouts one of her famous lines “Get out of my office before I have you THROWN OUT!” Wonderful stuff!

Welll, other than the occasional peltings Krystle gave to Alexis – this was one scene where Krystle was as snappy as Alexis with the words, wit, and sarcasm – it’s interesting that it seemed to get to Alexis even more than the times Krystle beat her ass repeadtedly.

Her hatred of Alexis usually blinded her to the fact that Blake was only gettng a dose of his own bitter poison.

Krystle is a hypocrite, though. Blake’s homophobia and his attempt at legal kidnapping of his grandson is what ruined his relationship with Steven – NOT Alexis. And if Alexis was attempting to shield Steven from the most alienating force in his life – his father – I don’t think that is any worse than what he did to both children for 16 years when he ran Alexis out of town and threatened her with disfigurement if she ever showed her face again.

Hahaha. I think she resented Krystle’s standing up to her like that about two people she’d always felt she had more domain over… Remember, Steven was her dearest, closest companion. The idea of Krystle gaining more influence over Steven than her was downright horrifying. She had already lost Fallon, who originally hated Krystle more than anyone – and she had herself to blame for that. Steven and Krystle were also close, so I think she was genuinely afraid of her influence by this point.
